Good thought process, my mother gave up on me quite at an early age. But I didn´t turn up all that bad. Just a bit.
There is a quote by quite a smart young lady, “Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person´s character lies in their own hands.” Anne Frank. Only 15 years old and she was that smart? What a talent of a person they took away.
So yes, you can raise the child installing in them certain values, but ultimately that child is going to grow up and be his or her own person. Ofcourse it helps if you have a supporting family that gives you and shows you the “good” way to live (which is relative) but there are plenty of people I know their parents are a bunch of A-holes, and they turned up to grow up quite good hardworking people. So point being, it all comes down to the individual. Self responsibility, I´m a big fan of that one.
Parenting is the hardest job in the world, but the most worthwhile ❤️
Thank you for letting me your thoughts.
I am not a perfect persons. I stumble everyday. I think it’s so encouraging to hear from other parents on the very hard days. Your comment was inspiring to me ❤️
Hi Carisa…Enjoying your posts…Thanks for sharing your writing with all of us…Helping little ones—become big ones—is a grand reason—to be and family to me—is everything! Wishing you—days of Gentle winds—Soft curves and Wonder…Phil
As parents all we want for our kiddos is happiness and success. I know I’m guilty of giving my own kids exceeding material items. They will usually play with it for a couple of days or week. Then they aren’t interested in it. However, when I give them all my time with simple home cooked meals and hanging at home…. They could do that for years…they crave that. They need that.
Love that! Well said Carisa! 😊

Its so tough to balance. I think at times I’m guilty of giving too much to prove that I love them.

That was really thought provoking, It so easy to sometimes overlook things and this was a great reminder to look deeper 🙂
